Meet the Engage Mentoring Team: Liz Yust

Liz Yust is the Regional Sales Manager at Engage Mentoring, helping to lead sales efforts through the leadership and development of our Market Leaders Team.

Liz Yust, Regional Sales Manager

Liz strives to be a servant leader as she loves to ensure people are seen, heard and accomplishing their big, hairy, audacious goals. With over 15 years of marketing and sales experience in both B2B and B2C sectors, she is excited to bring her skills to aid in the mission of helping companies attract, develop, and retain a diverse population of employees through leadership development and mentorship.

Born and raised in Indianapolis, she still resides in this great city with her husband and three kids. Outside of the office, her favorite things include having dance parties with her family, going on long runs and trying new local beers.

How does your role help contribute to the growth and success of Engage Mentoring?

One of my greatest strengths is my natural curiosity and listening to understand. In my role of regional sales, I get the opportunity to listen to clients’ current pains and identify solutions to attract, retain and develop their talent.

Coffee or tea? Black or milk and sugar?

Skinny vanilla latte – every day, every time!

What causes do you care about?

Advocating for people who don’t have the means or resources to do so for themselves. I’ve specifically been advocating for mental health awareness and suicide prevention through the amazing organization of American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP) for almost 15 years.

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given? Why does it resonate with you?

It’s only a failure if you fail to learn.

It took me YEARS to truly grasp that failure is part of the path to success. There is opportunity in everything; you just have to keep your eyes open to seeing it, and your heart open to receiving it.

What book or movie do you always recommend?

Favorite “Life” Book: The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer

Favorite “Professional” Book: Atomic Habits by James Clear

Favorite “Beach” Book: The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom

Movies: Just about any movie from Quentin Tarantino

What animal best represents you?

I’m a sorority woman, and my sorority’s animal happens to be the panda, which I just love! Pandas stand for love, determination and kindness.

Do you like listening to music or podcasts while you work? What is your favorite?

The two podcasts I’ve been loving recently are ADHD for Smart Ass Women and Gold Digger.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Currently, I’m pretty proud of my efforts in trying to raise three kind-hearted children who love themselves and love others. I’m still early in this adventure, so only time will tell if my efforts are fruitful!

Prior to a life with children, I remember the huge sense of accomplishment in completing a 5-year undergrad program in 4 years, all while working multiple jobs to financially support myself.
